Scholarships
In this 60-hour blended program, you’ll study Spanish every day for four weeks. This course starts with online classes for two weeks with a native professor and ends with three weeks of a cultural immersion in Manizales, Colombia. You will explore the city and enjoy with our Cultural Ambassadors and students. They organize various activities in addition to regular classes, including workshops, games, city tours, and culture local experiences. You’ll meet new friends and share moments in which you might not notice how much Spanish you’ve been practicing.
Dates:
- Online sessions: July 15th to July 26th, 2024.
- On campus sessions: August 5th to August 16th, 2024.
The Everyday Spanish Program has a tuition fee of 1,960 USD. The Universidad de Manizales will award 10 scholarships for international students for the 2024 cohort, as follows:

- Be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university.
- Must not be a native Spanish speaker.
- Have an English level of B1 or higher.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
- No previous level of Spanish is required.

2. Send an email expressing interest in participating in the program to dir_ori@umanizales.edu.co, the subject of the email should be "Everyday Spanish Program Application" followed by the applicant's full name. The following documents should be attached to the e-mail:
• Student's Curriculum Vitae.
• Letter of application from the University where the student is enrolled.
• Video explaining the reasons why the student wishes to participate in the program (maximum duration 1 minute).
• Copy of passport.
Universidad de Manizales will finance 100%, 90% or 80% of the following costs, according to the approved scholarship:
• Virtual course tuition of 40 hours.
• Tuition for on-site course of 40 hours according to the approved scholarship.
• Course materials.
• Accomodation during the immersion in Manizales.
• 3 meals per day from Monday to Friday during the on-site Spanish program
The student will pay the following expenses:
• Student visa processing (if applicable).
• International medical insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000 and repatriation service.
• Internal transportation in the city of Manizales.
• Meals on Saturdays and Sundays during the on-site course.
• 10% or 20% of the cost of the program according to the approved scholarship.
• Other personal expenses not covered by the scholarship.
Academic average (30%), resume (30%), motivational video (40%) will be taken into account.
